Coast to Coast | Stage 1 round-up

Coast to Coast | Stage 1 round-up

A Touch of Class took the spoils in stage one...

Saturday saw the UK's only National Play Touch Rugby League competition get underway at Victoria Park, Warrington.

A record 12 teams contested stage 1 of the 2018 competition, which included six new teams taking part for the first time.

After the group stages, Pitch 1 saw Wolf Pack from Warrington finish top of the pile and Titans 1, also from Warrington, runners up.

Meanwhile, Pitch 2 saw Touch Of Class edge out Featherstone to top spot.

The semi-finals were closely-contested with both games ending as a draw, so 'Drop Off' came into play (where one player from each team is removed every minute until a try is scored).

The Finals also proved to be tight affairs, with only one try separating the teams.

But eventually we saw 'A Touch of Class' were crowned Stage 1 Champions, with 'Titans 2' securing the Plate title.

Teams now carry their points forward to Stage 2 as the battle to become National Champions hots up

Stage 2 takes place in Catterick on Saturday, July 14, with Stage 3 hosted in Blackpool Saturday, September 8.

There's still time to enter Coast to Coast 2018!
