Brooksbank have been regulars at the Champion Schools Finals over the years but in 2017 they had no representatives.
However, the Year 9 Boys have made it this year and are looking to take the title.
They've had a very good campaign, according to coach Damian Ball: "We went really close last year and got to the National semi finals.
"We were beaten quite heavily by St Peter's, who we are playing in the final this time, so I think we'll be using that as motivation.
"This year, they've really excelled, winning the Calderdale Cup and the Yorkshire Cup. They are a good side, with about 15 players who play for Siddal.
"We've got quite a lot of flair in attack and do score quite a lot of points and defensively they have a lot of qualities. We have conceded a few more points than we would have liked recently, but they do work hard in all areas.
"We're quite a flair team with quite a lot of threats across the park. They are a very committed bunch, very easy to coach."
Damian is reluctant to pick out individuals but concedes that loose forward Harvey Oldroyd, who came to the school from Ryburn Valley as an in-year transfer this year, has really changed the dynamics of the team. "He's a very strong performer, a lot of professional clubs are looking at him.
"Our captain is Morgan Gannon, whose dad Jim used to play professionally. He's another player who is quite influential.
"They are our two main men but we have a lot of strong performers across the board. We’ve got a lot of players who have emerged from local clubs that weren't playing last year and have done a fantastic job.
"But we have been unlucky with a lad called Billy Davies, who broke his leg in the National quarter finals."
Damian would like to thank the parents for their support and fundraising efforts.
"We regularly get a number of the parents at all our games, despite work commitments. With the fundraising especially, we are thankful to them. They are involved in raising money for our travel kit and we wouldn't be able to do it without them."
