Disciplinary: Tonight's cases

The following cases were heard this evening (Tues 3 July) by an Independent Operational Rules Tribunal (HHJ Chris Batty, Andy Raleigh & Danny Sculthorpe);

Romain Naverrette (Wigan Warriors) - withdrew his Challenge on the grading of a Grade B Dangerous Contact charge and accepts a 1 match ban.

Brad Nicholson (Keighley Cougars) -  Player pleaded guilty to Grade F Other Contrary Behaviour and is banned for 8 matches with a £75 fine.

James Brown (Batley Bulldogs) - Challenged the grading of a Grade B Striking charge. The panel agreed with the original penalty notice, and the player is banned for 2 matches plus an additional match due to the unreasonable challenge, also fined £250 and forfeits a £250 bond.

The following players accepted Penalty notices issued by the Match Review Panel;

Sika Manu (Hull FC) – Grade C Dangerous Contact – 3 matches (Higher end of Penalty Notice)

Ben Barba (St Helens) – Grade A Kicks opponent – 0 matches (lower end of Penalty Notice)

Jamie Ellis (Castleford Tigers) – Grade A Kicks opponent – 0 matches (lower end of Penalty Notice)

Morgan Escare (Wigan Warriors) – Grade A Strikes with knees – 0 matches (lower end of Penalty Notice)

Matty English (Huddersfield Giants) – Grade A Dangerous Contact – 0 matches (lower end of Penalty Notice)

Darrell Griffin (Keighley Cougars) – Grade B Other Contrary Behaviour – 1 match (lower end of Penalty Notice)
